Social Thinkers Club Spring 2025 is ready for a 2nd round!

These weekly meetings are held at KindTreeKids (located at 3191 Burgundy Road, Decatur 30033) where mindfulness meets social thinking.

KindTreeKids is excited to offer a WEEKLY play-based SOCIAL THINKERS CLUB! This will be a supportive environment where children can develop key social and emotional skills through engaging hands-on activities! These small groups will meet for 6 weekly sessions focused on creating opportunities to manage friendships, develop play skills, engage in group activities, improve conversation skills, and build self-awareness, emotional regulation, flexible thinking, and problem-solving abilities. This club will work to provide children with hands-on practice and simple tools to build awareness that can help blossom their social skills.

KindTreeKids programs are led by Speech-Language Pathologists (and trained Jr./Sr. Counselors). These groups are designed for children who face challenges with social thinking and emotional regulation. Topics will include:

  • Effective Communication: Understanding non-verbal cues, reading the room, maintaining conversations, and topic management.

  • Understanding and Managing Emotions: Building self-awareness and emotional regulation skills.

  • Perspective-Taking & Empathy: Learning to consider how our actions impact others and understanding different viewpoints.

  • Problem Solving: Practicing sharing, repairing relationships, and flexible thinking in challenging situations.

  • Developing Healthy Relationships: Making and nurturing friendships, and building positive connections with peers.

Each week, we focus on a different topic to help your child improve their ability to connect with others and navigate social situations with confidence. You will receive a detailed report on what was covered, how your child participated, and helpful tips for bringing those skills home and across other settings!

What happens at each session:

  • greetings and sensory-rich outside play to get our bodies regulated

  • yoga and breathing

  • meeting to review last week's materials and go over the plan for the day

  • topic of the day (book reading, dialogue, quick videos, etc)

  • activity and games to reinforce the weekly topic

  • clean up and go home

These groups are limited in size and will fill up quickly so please consider this when you register!

***Cancellations must be done at least 14 DAYS prior to the first April session. The cancellation policy is outlined in further detail on the registration page. By registering for this program, you agree to these terms. Thank you for your understanding!
