WHAT IS KINDTREEKIDS?

KindtreeKids is a community-based program that helps young children develop emotional intelligence, self-awareness and self regulation so they can navigate social situations and learn how to advocate for their own needs in a healthy and productive way.

Our mission at KindTreeKids is to help families thrive.

We know that navigating a world with children who get overwhelmed, confused, anxious, shut down, or explode outwardly during social settings is hard. We want to help make it better by giving your child the tools to navigate the world differently and giving you the understanding and resources to help along the way.

We offer a variety of weekend programs and camps for ages 3-11. Scroll down to subsribe to our mailing list and be the first to know when registration opens to the public!

How we work:

Our social thinking program uses principles of mindfulness and self regulation, to help your child learn how to check in with their own internal voice and check out their external environment in a safe, supported and meaningful way during

What happens at KindTreeKids?

Our outdoor sessions include plenty of hands-on activities, big and small movements,  role-playing activities, in-the-moment modeling, and gentle guidance in our open-ended play opportunities. We know that all emotions are okay but sometimes we need help figuring out how to respond to those big emotions! We welcome and support leaning into big emotions with compassion and build a plan together. We encourage ways to navigate challenging social situations so that it’s a learning experience and not shameful or punishing. At KindTreeKids, we pride ourselves on meeting the child just where they are, honoring and respecting their needs. By establishing a trusted relationship, we are then able to guide each child to feel safe and confident to try the tools and techniques to encourage problem-solving and relationship-building skills that they can use anywhere!

That’s why our program isn’t just about the child; it’s about you, too. Our support for your child doesn’t end when you pick them up. Each month, we send home a monthly parent guide with strategies, support, and guidance to empower you to continue their learning at home, in between our sessions together.

About me:

Hi! I’m Anita, and I’ve spent over two decades working with children and I’m so excited to get to know your child. I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist by profession with experience working with and developing social language and communication skills in children of all ages with all sets of challenges. I love helping to empower children who struggle to understand, process, and communicate their social and emotional needs clearly and effectively. Meeting the child where they are and building on their strengths is my passion I’ve also worked as a consultant teaching families and professionals how to understand and support children with a wide range of different abilities by meeting them where they are, without shame or punishment. I love nothing more than helping families find a new way forward supporting their children.
